In this video I am taking you all to one of the most exciting treks of Panvel.It is a one day trek.This fort is located in the Raigarh district of Maharashtra.
The fort got a rebirth under Shivaji’s reign.The Prabalgad terrain is covered under a green blanket of copse.

The trek to the fort passes through dense forests through narrow trails. This terrain uphill is rocky and steep at some places with zigzag steps carved out of rocks. While ascending the fort, the plateau covered with a crown of mist makes for an awe-inspiring sight.

Base Village : #Thakurwadi
Difficulty : Low to Medium
Best Time : June to Feb
Altitude : 2290 ft (approx)

How to go to Prabalgad Fort from Panvel ?

Take local train to Panvel

Option 1:
Go to Panvel Bus Stand and take ST Bus to Thakurwadi base village (though the frequency of ST is very few and there is one in the morning before 8:00 am.

Option 2:
There is a tum-tum stand just beside ST Bus stand.Current rate is INR 400 to Thakurwadi base village.If you are in group you may split the fare or pay full as per your convenience.

Option 3 (If you are solo and don't want to spend 400 bucks):

Go via village by village.
Take tum-tum from #Panvel Bus Stand to #Shedu village (https://goo.gl/maps/KLfQ4SfWrZNtFse69)

Then take tum-tum/sharing auto to #Vardoli Village (https://goo.gl/maps/Jj71H97GyAewaWVL9)
INR 20/-

Then take sharing auto to Kalavantin Trek start point.

INR 40/-

Total fare = INR 110 /-
I went to #PrabalGad following option 3.


On returning don't worry there will be an auto rickshaw who will take you to Panvel Station at 100 Rs/seat.

So to and fro total fare will be around 210-250 RS.
