ZAPU ADVOCATES FOR SOCIALISM OVER FACTIONALISM IN NAGA POLITICS

During a visit to Zapu's residence in Kigwema, the NNC Central Executive member addressed the current Naga political issues and the emergence of new factions. He emphasized that the NNC remains committed to non-violence and non-cooperation. Established in 1946 during British rule, the NNC declared Naga independence on August 14. Zapu clarified that the Naga struggle is not for independence or a flag but for recognition. He urged the public to differentiate between emerging factions involved in extortion, stressing that the proliferation of parties does not equate to a greater chance for resolution. Zapu encouraged a focus on socialism rather than the NNC itself.
