Developing a specialized tool for Dravet disease with associated neuropsychiatric disorder

Dravet syndrome is a rare disease associated with a complex form of drug-resistant epilepsy, developmental delay in children, and neuropsychiatric comorbidities in later life. In this interview, Alberto Cossu, MD, Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata Verona, Verona, Italy, highlights the lack of specialized tools to assess the efficacy of interventions in this patient population and discusses the development of a new patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) tool, the Dravet disease with associated neuropsychiatric disorder (D-DAND) interview.
