​Course Overview
Working with a different set of Generational Leaders, Managers and Up starts for 22 years, I observe. Lean can complement the how the mindset of Millennials. Lean is centered on preserving value with less work. It is a present-day instance of the recurring theme in human history toward increasing efficiency, decreasing waste, and using empirical methods to decide what matters, rather than uncritically accepting pre-existing ideas. Lean aims
to make the work simple enough to understand, do and manage.
Least effort ( by eliminating waste) for the Immediate satisfaction (hitting Goals)

Course Objectives
At the end of this course participants:
*Understand the reasons for implementing lean.
*Learn the terms, tools, and techniques used in lean.
*Identify the types of waste that can be eliminated with lean.
*Describe why and how lean can apply to finance, maintenance, sales and R&D processes.
*Set-Up Reduction: Investigate how to slash set-up and change-over times and understand how important fast set-ups are to lean efforts.
*Support Processes: Recognize how important lean scheduling, lean purchasing, lean accounting, and lean warehousing practices are to supporting and sustaining a lean manufacturing effort.
*Continuous Improvement: Explore the options for keeping a lean effort viable and vital.
*Understand how important it is to address people issues as cross-training and flexible staffing practices are introduced.

Outline
A look on Lean Development
The history of Lean Manufacturing goes back many centuries, well before Ford’s famous production lines for the model T ford; however it really starts to begin to be the philosophy that we know today with Toyota and the development of the Toyota Production System (TPS).

​Toyota set out to be far better than Ford and the rest of the US Automobile Industry, an ambition that they quickly achieved despite a lack of resources and infrastructure. Toyota are far from perfect by their own admission, they are only part way on their never ending journey of Lean.
