The Ashtapadi – Verses from “Gita govinda” Saint Jayadeva’s verses conjures the images of Love between the Lord of Shringara Rasa – Krishna & Radha – the divine cowherdess

Here radha is found dejected and wailing as Krishna dint turn up to meet her at the appointed time. “Wasteful is my youth & unblemished beauty without him, whom can i approach as a haven in this forest?”

The sakhi says, “With crafty words he has fallen at your feet! none other than mura’s killer. Stop toggling and seek him for he is fathiful to you.
Let the bells of your waist strings make the drumbeats as you make a move towards him for he is your seeker. Don’t be ignorant!
