Dynasty Warriors 3: XL - Zhao Yun Musou Mode 7 | The Battle at Wu Zhang Plains

Boy, this is a long battle. And a massive map. Still not as hard as Yi Ling though. As Zhao Yun, we start in the bottom left of the map. Allies and enemies are kind of jumbled together here with the exception of the main camps. Best way to go about this stage is to go around taking out the officers threatening to destroy your scattered allies.

As time progresses, Wei will start to set up catapults near Sima Zhao. To stop them, go and defeat him before they start. If the catapults do start firing, they don't stop until enough time has passed. Catapults will drop rocks around the Shu main camp for a few minutes. These can damage both you and allies. If it hits you it'll take out about 50% of your health. So, don't get hit twice if you try to run through the area they're firing at.

After enough time has passed, enemy reinforcements will appear as well, twice, and all on the east side of the map. It's quite a few officers, but once they and every other officer are defeated your commander will order a charge and all your officers will advance on the enemy.

If you go to the southeast part of the map you can find the wood oxen. Break them to get some health pick ups and arrows. If you approach Sima Yi from the cliffside, you'll trigger a cutscene where you insult him. This will lower his morale, which can be very good considering he's the commander.

Sima Yi has a ton of troops and a few platoons of archers with him, but nowhere near as bad as Yi Ling. So long as you take them out when you notice them, you shouldn't have much trouble fighting Sima Yi. You can also defeat is troops to let your allies march up to him with you and take him on with some friends.

And with that, the first musou mode is done. Yeah, DW3 has an unprecedented 7 stages per musou mode so each one has a lot of length to them. This also means we'll be seeing a loooooot of stages over and over again. After beating a musou mode, we'll see an ending cutscene play. The events that happen change slightly depending on which character you are but are otherwise pretty random which events will play.
