Blue Line Metro - First Person Train Ride in Todos Santos (Cities: Skylines 1)

Описание к видео Blue Line Metro - First Person Train Ride in Todos Santos (Cities: Skylines 1)

In this video, you'll take an immersive ride on Todos Santos' Blue Line heading from downtown (Milla de Plata) to the nearby town of Río de Plata, as well as see some landmarks along the way. This line is very loosely based on the Tren Urbano in San Juan.

-- MORE INFO --
For locals, the Blue Line holds pride of place for being the first and longest urban rail line in the city. Its original length, opened in 1993, stretched from its current downtown terminus at Milla de Plata Station to University Station. Its southern end saw a 2003 extension to Puerto Nuevo, Gatoña and (controversially) the rural town of Río de Plata, blurring the line between metro and commuter rail. An elevated northern extension to Tierra del Puerto is currently under construction, linking the train to the Todos Santos Ferry stop located there.

-- ABOUT THE STATIONS --

Milla de Plata Station:

This glass-roofed station has skyways to the Medalla Building across the street as well as several major office buildings. The first floor also sees multiple bus lines stop there.

Taíno Stadium Station:

Part of the downtown transit hub, this elegant station provides access to the nearby stadium, the metro Red Line and 6 important bus lines.

Las Colinas Station:

This station sits in the median of the TS-1 freeway, with pedestrian tunnels providing access to the neighborhood of Las Colinas on one side and Puerto Norte on the other.

University Station:

This station, though often lampooned by locals for its hideous architecture (it's little more than a block of concrete hidden under the grimy TS-1), nonetheless provides easy access to the University of Todos Santos, the Mall of Todos Santos, the metro Orange Line and 2 bus lines.

Puerto Nuevo Station:

This station, adjacent to the metro railyard, serves Puerto Nuevo and its various industrial sectors, plus the gritty neighborhood Los Manglares.

Gatoña Station:

This station originally only served the town of Gatoña, but was recently improved with a pedestrian bridge crossing the TS-2 freeway to access a new public housing project.

Río de Plata Station:

Quite a distance from Gatoña, this terminus station was a controversial part of the southern extension. However, due to existing right-of-way and infrastructure, it was relatively cheap to build compared to some of the urban sections. It connects the agricultural region of Río de Plata and the industrial town of Esperanza to the rest of Todos Santos, and has proven popular with locals despite the initial concern.

-- ABOUT THE SERIES --
On the north shores of this tropical island sprawls the metropolis of Todos Santos. In this series, I attempt to build a Latin American city that roams from the Old World casco viejo to the car-centric urbanism of the New World, primarily drawing inspiration from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I hope you’ll join me on this high-detail exploration of all the things that make us love cities.
