Wessex Anton, Mahler, Wyvern and Chicago-York Tuba Comparison by Will Druiett

We are so excited to be sharing our long awaited C Tuba comparison video!

Today, we are comparing the Wessex Anton, Mahler, Wyvern and Chicago-York Tuba. We are joined by Jonathan Hodgetts and Will Druiett, who offer a quick introduction of the Tubas before Will performs a short excerpt on each Tuba. If you've ever wondered what these Tubas sound like compared to eachother, then this is the video for you!

We recorded these tubas using a Neumann TLM 103 Microphone and a Scarlett Interface, so we could ensure that the tone of the Tubas would be captured as closely to their raw form as possible. Obviously there will be compression added that we can not control when these files are uploaded to Youtube, but we did try our best to keep it as true as possible prior to uploading these demos to social media. Will also recorded each Tuba using the same mouth piece, and position, so we could offer a true representation of what each Tuba sounds like when compared to the next.
