Non-Stop Metrolink and Amtrak Evening Rush Hour Trains at Los Angeles Union Station

About this video: On July 29, 2024, I rode Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner from San Diego to Los Angeles and back. This video is a collection of the trains that I managed to capture during my time at Los Angeles Union Station that day while I had free time before boarding my train back south. I arrived on Amtrak 777 and took a quick look around downtown before returning to Union Station to watch passenger train traffic pick up as the evening commuter rush hour got going. Trains featured include Amtrak’s Southwest Chief and Pacific Surfliner in addition to the many Metrolink commuter trains. The earliest clips featured in this video were taken a little before 5:00 PM - the action was consistently busy right up until I left town on Amtrak 586 just past 6:00 PM. I also made sure to take videos while onboard Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner on this day - they will be posted separately soon after this upload.
