MAN1 DMUs on Local service at Kalamata-Messini line.

For one more time since 2013 the line Kalamata-Messini was opened for the passengers that wanted to visit the great bazzar of Messini. This bazaar is taking place every September in the second most populated town of Messinia perfecture during the celebrations of virgin Mary at the Cathedral of the city. Every year lots of people from the capital, Kalamata, an other villages and cities of the perfecture visit the bazaar. TRAINOSE for another years, operates the loccal service between the two cities and even more citizens choose the trains for their transport. Especially the youngsters who are tremendously in favor of the suburban rail trasports, as they see in the cepital of Hellas, Athens. The line was serviced by 3 (some times coupled in pairs) MAN1 DMUs. There were built totally 10 units for suburban trains in the early 90s, 9 by the Hellenic Shipyards near Athens and the first unit by M.A.N in Germany. In the video you will see shots from all across the line that were placed not in filming order and some shots from inside, to have an idea about the trip and the popularity of this transport in Kalamata.
