I've been on the lookout for a great portable snare for less than £100. Aiming to keep the size within the 8"-10" ranges, enough to fit in a backpack so I wouldn't need to add more to my gear back. I was mainly looking at timbale snares because I was able to mount them on my hi-hat stand, but the sound didn't seem right in many of the reviews I've come across. It was a toss-up between the Meinl and Tama Timbale Snares but I wanted to see what else was out there. I eventually came across this nugget!
