HOW TO align a single Sideband radio and avoid IMD. MY WAY...Galaxy DX-959b

Note* I realize now I misspoke and referred to my spectrum analyzer span set to 3khz. I meant to say “30khz”. Sometimes my brain misfires 🙂

This is the procedure that I follow to align a Single Sideband CB or 10 meter radio and keep my 3rd order intermodulation distortion at a minimum. It is a little more in-depth than what I normally show. I was asked to elaborate a little more on a sideband alignment process. So I made this video to do so. Some of this information cannot be found in your typical factory alignment procedure but will cross over to any sideband cb or 10 meter radio. It would be helpful if manufacturer’s explained a little more in-depth in their alignment procedures to lay out what I’m showing you here but alas, no. I hope this helps somebody out. I don’t do this for money. I’m not a repair shop. Tinkering with cb’s and 10 meter radios is my hobby. So I have no problem showing you what others are not willing to.
