We are happy to share that out of the list of 55 Haridasas and haridasis featured in “Taulava Dasa Darshana” (A brief collection on the life stories and achievements of Haridasas of Undivided Dakshina Kannada) by B.K.Srimati Rao (Sri Gurupriya Vittaladasi), Panamburu Shri Guru Sadananda holds the 12th place, with great figures like Sri Madhwachaya and Sri Vadhiraja.

Udupi is one of the Sapthamoksha Sthala created by Parashurama in Karnataka. Udupi is well known district in Karnataka state’s coastal region.

When one think of Udupi, the first thing come to our mind is Udupi Sri Krishna Matha.
The beautiful statue of Lord Sri Krishna was consecrated by Dwaitha Matha Samsthapanacharya Sri Madhwacharya.

Lord Krishna gives darshan to his devotees through the window having 9 holes.

The reason how this pious region named as ”Udupi” has been described in Puranas.

The name Udupi has come from the two Sanskrit words “Udu” and “Pa”.

In Sanskrit, Udu means Stars and Pa means King. As this place is adored as king of stars, Moon’s tapobhoomi, it was named as Udupi.
This statue of Lord Sri Krishna was consecrated by none other than great Sri Madhwacharya. It is also said that this statue was worshipped by Devi Rukhmini.

When Dwaraka city drowned in ocean, this statue was also drowned along with it.

Statue got mixed up with Mud and Sandal paste (Gopi Chandana) of Dwaraka.

One sailor found this statue. While he was carrying this statue in his ship in the coastal region, he had to face sudden storm. At that time, at the seashore, Sri Madhwacharya was engaged in his morning prayers. He watches the ship is stuck in storm and through his yogic powers he helps to land the ship to the shore safely.

Overjoyed, the sailor happily hands over the statue of Lord Krishna which was placed inside Gopichandaa to Sri Madhwacharya as a gift. On Sankranti day of 13th century, Sri Madwacharya consecrates the statue of Lord Krishna in Udupi.

To perform the pooja rituals to Sri Krishna, he forms a Matha in the 8 directions of Sri Krishna Matha. Seers of these 8 Mathas were asked to perform pooja rituals for two months each on a rotational basis.
Sri Vadhiraja extends this period of two months to two years.
You can find these 8 Mathas of Udupi in Car Street as below:
Kaniyuru Matha, Sode Matha, Puttige Matha, Adamaru Matha, Pejavara Matha, Palimaru Matha, Krishnapura Matha and Shirooru Matha

Great Saint Sri Kanakadas was a reat devotee of Lord Sri Krishna. He was singing Bhajan’s composed by him at presently known as Kanaka gopura in the back side of the temple.

Carrying Kadagolu (Churning stick) in his right hand and rope in his left hand, Udupi’s cute little Balakrishna has become Aradhyadaiva for many people and is blessing all with prosperity.

We are requesting you all to spread this Video Album to maximum devotees and get the blessings of Lord Sri Krishna.
