Ladybower Reservoir, the Mystery Railway & the Secret Door in the Hill

Ladybower Reservoir is the home to many secrets & history. Join me as i set out to discover another set of mysteries around the former Hamlet of Ashopton.
Once there was a railway built to construct the Howden & Derwent Dams, this was known as the Bamford & Howden railway and a great wooden viaduct was constructed to bypass Ashopton.

Later we loo at how this may have been built when we discover the remains of a nearby Industrial railway buried beside the reservoir.

Finishing off we find a peculiar doorway in the side of the hill. What was this for and where on earth does it go to?
