The central government has notified a new Commission to look into quotas for Dalit Christians and Muslims. The commission has been appointed under K G Balakrishnan, the former Chief Justice of India and former chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The three-member committee will also comprise retired IAS officer Dr. Ravindra Kumar Jain and University Grants Commission member, Prof. Sushma Yadav.
