07/26/2024 Bell Test (Simplex 4100U)

Another bell test in a school from this week. This is in a 3-story middle school. The system is a Simplex 4100U and the signals are Wheelock AS-24-MCW-FR horn/strobes and Wheelock RSS-24MCW-FR remote strobes. I check floors 3 & 2 and my colleague checks the 1st floor, which contains large areas such as the gym, auditorium, and cafeteria plus several classrooms. This was not a successful test, as we found several deficiencies: the remote strobes in rooms 238, 202, 205-209, and the exterior remote strobe were found to be inoperable. The exterior strobe and the strobe in room 238 are in need of replacement. As far as the other strobes go, further investigation found a power supply with one of the circuits disconnected and resistored out. When we reattached the wire, troubles showed up on the power supply and our electrical meter detected an open circuit. This was confirmed when we conducted a test of the disconnected circuit and the strobe in room 202 functioned but the remaining strobes did not. Further troubleshooting is needed to correct the issue. As was with the last video, the hallways are a mess due to summer classroom cleaning.
