Midway, released in 1976, was one of the last of a breed: the World War II epic film. Not surprisingly, the action centers on the battle of Midway, and the main characters include well known names from the time such as Admiral Chester Nimitz and the Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, along with fictional characters who move the plot along. The cheerful, rousing, "Midway March" represents some of the film’s most memorable music.
