Black Uhuru—Take Heed

Every version of Black Uhuru has its own power and remains true to the group's image and purpose.

This performance of, "Take Heed", from a concert that was held at Bay Street, Sag Harbor, NY in March, 1990, was broadcast on Reggae Strong (and will be uploaded in full for channel members later in 2022. Featured here are Don Carlos, Garth Dennis and Duckie Simpson, the original trio who regrouped for several great albums and tours in the early 90s.

This performance also features guitarist Frank Stepanek and long-time Black Uhuru percussionist, Sky Juice. Sister Sensi and...yikes, will come back with some more IDs for band.

So saddened by the recent passing of Garth Dennis...not just a vital reggae artist and musician, but as good and humble a human being as you will find in this lifetime.

Sincere condolences to his friends and family. May his name be remembered as a blessing.
