변산반도,고사포해수욕장,

동쪽은 김제시·정읍시, 북쪽은 부안만, 남쪽은 곰소만, 서쪽은 황해에 접한다. 범위는 대체로 부안군의 면적과 일치한다. 북동쪽의 동진강에서 남서쪽의 반도해안 끝까지의 길이는 약 90㎞이다.
반도의 동반부는 광활한 호남평야의 일부가 되어 곡창지대를 이룬다. 서반부는 노령산맥(蘆嶺山脈)에서 분리되어 생긴 산괴(山塊)인데, 숲이 우거진 산과 계곡이 모래해안·암석해안과 어울려 뛰어난 경승지를 이룬다.
해안선을 따라 펼쳐진 지역을 외변산, 내륙부를 내변산이라 부른다. 중앙 내륙부는 1999년 국립공원으로 지정되었다. 격포리(格浦里) 해안의 채석강(彩石江)·적벽강(赤壁江), 신라 때 창건된 내소사(來蘇寺), 직소폭포(直沼瀑布), 고사포해수욕장(故沙浦海水浴場), 월명암(月明庵) 낙조대(落照臺) 등 관광자원이 많다.
이 곳에서 자라는 곧고 큰 소나무인 변재(邊材), 야생 난초인 변란(邊蘭), 이 곳에서 나는 자연산 꿀인 변청(邊淸)을 일컬어 삼변(三邊)이라고 한다.

The eastern part of the peninsula is part of the vast Honam Plain and forms a granary. The western half is a mountain range separated from the Noryeong Mountain Range, and the forested mountains and valleys combine with the sandy and rocky coasts to form an outstanding scenic spot.
The area along the coastline is called Oebyeonsan, and the inland area is called Naebyeonsan. The central inland area was designated as a national park in 1999. There are many tourist attractions such as Chaeseokgang (彩石江) and Jeokbyeokgang (赤壁江) along the coast of Gyeokpo-ri (格浦里), Naesosa Temple (來蘇寺) founded during the Silla Dynasty, Jikso Falls (直沼瀑布), Gosapo Beach (故沙浦海水浴場), and Wolmyeongam Sunset Terrace (落照臺). The straight and large pine trees growing here, the wild orchids called Byeonjae (邊材), and the natural honey produced here called Byeoncheong (邊淸) are called Sambyeon (三邊).
