Swing dance class recap – taking a break and filling time

Описание к видео Swing dance class recap – taking a break and filling time

This class explores a bunch of ideas about what you can do "between" the moves to take a break or fill time. There's loads of reasons why you might want to take a break: maybe the music is fast and you want to catch your breath, or the band is doing a long drum solo that's hard to dance to, or you're boxed in on the dance floor and don't have room for a big swing out, or maybe you're just trying to get back onto the top of the phrase.

In these cases a move that can be as many counts as you need it to be, can be super helpful!

We started with a simple two step "groove" which can be turned into a fun jig walk to spice it up. An easy exit from the jig walk is a tuck turn to open which then allows us to do some side by side jig walks, which can then be turned into a high energy "sliding door" where you slide past your partner.

All of these "non-moves" can be tailored to suit your timing, and take as many counts as you want, it's up to the lead to decide how many times they want to repeat it.
