This is the free version of Silhouette Essentials - Roto with Katie Morris, digital VFX artist and trainer. We're back to look at hands again. This shot offers different challenges than the previous hand roto we did, but many of the core techniques are the same. We see that the combination of tracked shapes and manual keyframing is the winning strategy for the toughest of shots. Silhouette is designed for the most demanding artists, and Katie shows us how to change our nudge factor down to 1/16th of a pixel accuracy.

In the second part of the session, we explore a technique of swapping out shapes.
