Fight of Gods is a 2.5D fighting game developed by Taiwan-based indie developer group Digital Crafter. Originally released around September 2017 before receiving ports to modern consoles (the Nintendo Switch and the PS4 in particular) and arcades, this game pits characters from various religions and mythologies into battling each other. This game in particular is banned in several Southeast Asian countries (including Indonesia, where I live) due to religious reasons - (in my country, at least) censors found the concept of this game to be offensive (even potentially encouraging religious discrimination, according to them), so this took me a bit to obtain.

Gameplay in Fight of Gods involves slow-paced, footsies-heavy gameplay. The game is light in terms of mechanics - besides universal overhead attacks and chain combos, Fight of Gods has the "Divine Power" system. Using the "DPS meter" (DPS presumably meaning Divine Power System), which fills up as you get hit, you could activate a temporary buff that (depending on the character) could last until the next round, or uses a timer. Some even have debuffs on top of buffs - Jesus' Divine Power, for example, is an attack buff that also restores health, at the cost of reducing defense.

The story of Fight of Gods involves a fighting tournament taking place in a parallel universe, where its contestants (comprised of various deities and mythological characters) are presumably sent to fight each other. It is then revealed that another being representing negative energy (referred to in-game as the "Boss") was responsible for hosting the tournament, and they then challenged you to a fight, with the Boss planning to use your character's powers to rule the world shall they emerge victorious. They, of course, were unsuccessful, bursting to light after being defeated. It should be noted that there aren't much of character-specific endings outside of this brief cutscene - you just go to staff credits right afterward.
