Unforgettable Road Trip: Discovering Davao Oriental

Join us on the first part of our road trip adventure as we explore the beautiful and picturesque Cape San Agustin in Barangay Lavigan in Governor Generoso. This must-see destination for nature-lovers and adventurers alike in the southernmost tip of Davao Oriental may be popular but this destination is still off-the-beaten path for many.

Along the way, you can find many hidden gems of unforgettable stories and encounters when you embark on a slow travel journey of discovery like we did.

Our primary focus point is one of Davao Oriental's top tourist spots--their famous and historic Parola or lighthouse.

To get to the cape in Governor Generoso on the southwestern side of Davao Oriental, we pass through three other western municipalities, Banay-Banay, Lupon, and San Isidro. We found absorbing stories along the way, which is the point of our slow travels--to discover our destinations through its people, their culture and lifestyle, and its scenic spots.

This road trip is all part of our coastal journey through the entire province of Davao Oriental, the most eastern province of the Philippines, which also boasts of having the longest coastline in the country.

As a travel photographer and videographer, I consider having a drone a must-have and as a relative newbie, I know I am going to make a ton of mistakes. And sure enough, that's what I did on this trip. So traveling with it doubles as a learning experience for me as a drone videographer/photographer.
