The BRUTAL Execution Of Joachim Murat - The King of Naples

During the French Revolution, France saw a huge number of executions and even the King and Queen were executed on the guillotine. In the period after, the were thousands of executions however one man who was also incredibly powerful in France was Joachim Murat. He was the brother in law of Napoleon, and he was a skilled military leader and cavalry commander. But he would be by Napoleon's side a number of times throughout his military campaigns, and it's believed that he fought in over 200 battles across Europe.

Joachim Murat would later be captured and he was then sentenced to death as he had turned on Napoleon. Murat was a flamboyant figure, and he would request to be shot by a firing squad made up of his own men. This is what happened and for his execution, 12 of his own soldiers were armed with rifles and they shot straight, ending the life of the French military commander.
