According to the history that Menakjinggo was an Adipati (Duke) of Blambangan. These version stating that he estimated was Bhre Wirabumi, a son from the one of the concubines. Meanwhile, if according to its own history of Blambangan that Menakjinggo had a named of Joko Umbaran which there is an assumption that is similar Bhre Wirabumi that considering had another name the same, namely Urubisma.

Menakjinggo who cames from Blambangan had join the competition to beat Kebo Marcuet, whose disliked by The Queen of Kencono Wungu from Majapahit, cause Kebo Mercuet really want to propose the Queen of Kencono Wungu to become his wife, but The Queen of Kencono Wungu didnt like and love him. .

In addition to the figure of Menakjinggo, around the Java community, is a figure that described that MenakJinggo had bad-tempered, cruel and arbitrary, besides ugly, lame, like eating betel leaves and sassy, and he had propose also to The Queen of Kencono Wungu (Queen of Majapahit) to become his wife. But in society of Blambangan / Banyuwangi, as seen in the story of art Janger, which Menakjinggo portrayed as handsome, loved by many womens, wise and protector of his people.

So why Menakjinggo rebel? According to the elders of Blambangan Banyuwangi was more because the Queen of Kencono Wungu bill promises to make the husband, after defeating Kebo Marcuet, if won by Menakjnggo.
