In this recipe, we're using the convenience of ready-to-use date paste (equivalent to around 2 lbs or 1 kg of pure date goodness!) to save time and money. However, if you prefer, you can absolutely use Medjool dates and transform them into a smooth paste using your trusty food processor.

Ingredients (makes approximately 20 date balls):

2 lbs (1 kg) of pure date paste (or Medjool dates to make your own paste)
1/4 cup of olive oil or coconut oil
1/3 cup of creamy tahini
1/2 cup of sesame seeds
1 tablespoon of ground cardamom
1 tablespoon of ground fennel seeds
1/2 tablespoon of ground anise seeds
1 cup of crushed walnuts
