Carnivorous Plant Update - Oct 2022

Описание к видео Carnivorous Plant Update - Oct 2022

Welcome to my carnivorous plant update! This is the first nursery update for the new growing season for 2022. There's been plenty happening at our new location in the 2 months since we moved in. One of the things that's been keeping me busy is organising the construction of my wooden platform for my carnivorous plants. To maximise sunlight exposure for my plants I've had to construct a wooden platform so they're elevated. This video gives you an idea of the design of the wooden platform. To keep costs low and to re-use as much material as possible I decided to re-use the wooden decking material on the side of our house. Ravi the handyman removed a section of decking where the future pool will be located. What is most satisfying is that he incorporated the decking into the wooden platform for my plants. In this vide I of course explore how my carnivorous plans are going including Sarracenia (North American Pitcher plants, Drosera (Sundews), Venus Flytraps and Cephalotus (Albany pitcher plants).
In the last couple of months we've received a lot of rain and the carnivorous plants are loving all that rainwater, So much so that some of my Sarrcaenia pitchers have fallen over. This is purely because they've captured so much water and the weight of the water has caused them to lean over. Check out my video where I explain how to make a simple wooden frame that supports your pitchers in the event of heavy rain. Not only does the wooden frame make your plants look more presentable but also makes the pitchers more functional as well. Check out my video here:    • North American Pitcher Plants - Deali...
