Well here’s the start of Sengoku Musou 3: Z...which I will refer to as Samurai Warriors 3: Z (SW3Z) because I’m an English speaker and prefer to use the abbreviations I am familiar with. Allow me to clarify once more than I do not understand Japanese. Don’t ask me about the specifics for the story in this game. I can’t help you there. I know a little bit of kanji and some basic Japanese grammar, that’s about it.

So yeah, I never thought I’d touch SW3 again in my life. Like ever. I hated this game. And I still do. But I decided to play this since I am actually trying to learn Japanese so more exposure to the language is always helpful and also just so I can say I’m officially done with SW3 forever.

SW3:Z is a PS3 release of SW3 that adds Garcia to the roster, makes Masanori and Aya playable, and gives story modes to those 3 as well as Kotaro, Okuni, No, Ranmaru, Yoshimoto, Toshiie, and Katsura. Man that is...that is quite the B-list cast line up. Hell, I’d even say it’s C-list. These are some of the least interesting characters to get story modes and they’re the selling point for this? Gah.

It’s a common misconception that SW3 on the PS3 fixes a lot of the problems the Wii version had. I was under the same impression until I actually played it. As it turns out, no! All the problems and complaints I had with SW3 for the Wii are still present for SW3Z on the PS3! Because this game was made by awful people with bad ideas!

You player character is still unnecessarily slow, you have a massive hit stun time when taking any sort of damage that puts you into a dead stop, your allies are so pathetically weak they drop like flies even in the best of conditions, and the game is so bad at rendering everything I have peons and officers fade out of existence as I’m in the middle of fighting them. Everything wrong with this game was an intentional design choice and/or an attempt to cut corners whenever possible. Agh!

Alright, got that out of the way. Now then, Gracia’s SW3 story has her more involved with Mitsuhide, her father, than SW2 ever did. As in, the two actually have more than one interaction. She essentially stows away and joins the battle against Motonari alongside her father here.

I accidentally played on Easy difficulty for most of her story because I didn’t realize it started me on it. So if it seems a lot easier than my other SW3 videos, that’s why.
