Day 14 - Rest day in Armenteira

Описание к видео Day 14 - Rest day in Armenteira

Today, for our unexpected rest day, we took a taxi from our hotel in Combarro to a laundromat, where we were the only ones there; in and out in an hour with clean clothes! Then the same taxi took us to our secluded hotel, stopping at the monastery where we start tomorrow (at the top of the mountain), where he let us wander around, take pictures, and order a tortilla española to take to the hotel for lunch. At the hotel, we were the only ones there until 6pm. So Penny started listening to a new audiobook, and I picked up my kindle for the first time on this trip! We reclined and lay on the ground in the 70° sun, and napped a little bit.

For dinner there were 8 of us: a Canadian couple, a woman from NC, and a German couple with a probably 5 year old son, who are biking the Camino (the boy rides in a bugger attached to his dad’s bike). We had wine, mussels (Penny ate), Galician ham, cheese, avocado and red pepper, a salad made with tomatoes, apples, oranges and homemade oil & vinegar dressing with mustard and freshly squeezed orange juice (I think), a Galician meat pie (I loved it; Penny passed on it), and a dessert of strawberry & cream (I was too full). As we stay here tomorrow night, too (they will transfer us back from our stopping point in Ponte Arnelas (8 miles). In the morning we get breakfast here, then will be transported to the monastery at the top, where we start. We will have a different Galician dinner tomorrow, and Penny’s son will be with us! On Wednesday he will walk what we do tomorrow and Wednesday, then we walk together on Thursday and Friday.
