A very entertaining afternoon spent at the great station of Walton-on-Thames on the South Western Mainline where we see plenty of services from South Western Railway.

Walton-on-Thames is one of the more interesting stations along this route, so far throughout most of the stations that I have visited I have mentioned that at some stage they all had 4 platforms and eventually having the island platform removed from lack of use, well that's the exact same story here however the island platform has been left in place which really gives this station a good character to it. The station was opened in 1838 by the London and South Western Railway.

My next station is actually going to be Cardiff Central, this is because for the next few weekends following on from this one there was engineering works taking place along the route which would have meant that even though I could've filmed on this route I wouldn't have seen the line at its best. So I thought I would go elsewhere until the work has been completed and then I'll come back onto the SWML and continue my series to London Waterloo.
