J.S.Bach - “Little” FUGUE IN G MINOR (BWV 578) [Hauptwerk // Noordbroek]

Описание к видео J.S.Bach - “Little” FUGUE IN G MINOR (BWV 578) [Hauptwerk // Noordbroek]

In this video you can hear my rendition of J.S.Bach''s “Little Fugue in G minor” (BWV 578) played on my Hauptwerk organ. I have chosen to use the sample set of Noordbroek, created by Sonus Paradisi.

Fugue in G minor, BWV 578, (popularly known as the Little Fugue), was written by Johann Sebastian Bach during his early years at Arnstadt, from 1703–1707. When you play the fugue it feels a bit like playing the fugue in C minor (BWV 537) I made a rendition on some months ago. It is not as complex as say the larger fugue from Bachs "Fantasy and Fugue" in G minor, but it has that youth "feel" to it. It is more straightforward and the fugue theme itself has a lot of power to it.
