Touhou 8 - Imperishable Night - Perfect Stage 5 - Lunatic

A video of me fighting through stage 5 and its boss: the Mad Moon Rabbit, Reisen Udongein Inaba, without dying or bombing.

Help with difficult attacks:

GENERAL:
Boss's movements are manipulable, stay on their left to move them left and on their right to move them right.

TEWI:
For her 1st nonspell I prefer to enter the pattern from one of the further back waves in the "steps" of the and then stay still. Some people prefer to go far off centre and dodge from there but I found this to be more difficult. For the lines of red/blue circles, the from bullet is aimed at you so use that to your advantage. Sidestep left for the reds and right for the blues. Second nonspell is easy, just position yourself so the graze circle is only just not touching the bottom and dodge horizontally. It seems this takes longer to defeat if you deal any damage whatsoever to the familiars for some reason O_o.

LUNATIC GAZE "ILLUSION SEEKER":
Practice is key here. The more you practice, the better you'll be able to see the bullets during the red eye effect and the easier it becomes to predict where a safespot will open up. I'm terrible at this by the way.

INDOLENCE "MIND STOPPER":
The general method should be obvious here. However, some people prefer to alternate where they dodge at the bottom while others prefer to always do one side. I'm the latter type but it's worth getting used to both sides in case the one side you're good at dodging on becomes dangerous. You should also practice unfocusing at times to get to the centre faster so the aimed bullets spread out less.

LUNAR EYES "TELE-MESMERISM (REMOTE RABBIT)":
Actually quite easy once you get the hang of a specific strategy. Reisen's hitbox seems to be slightly smaller here, to the point that Yukari can't hit with all 3 streams of her shot, so stay off centre if you're using her. Start at the bottom of the screen and off centre to the right. Have your hitbox above the "m" of "Enemy". This forces Reisen right so move right as the red eyes effect occurs and move slightly up so you don't get hit. Again, stay on her right. During the second red eyes effect, move up to about halfway and dodge as best you can when the effect stops. Maximise damage if you can but survival obviously takes priority. During the third red eyes effect, move up above half way up and dodge the reds spawned from the right when the effect wears off. Finally, during the fourth red eyes effect, finish Reisen off and capture the spell. The hard part is the third spell. If you're struggling to understand this wall of text, then just roughly copy what I did in the video.
