WHAT IS PLAYER AGENCY AND WHY IT’S IMPORTANT

When I, as a Dungeon Master, successfully provide real player agency in my D&D table, I’m aiding my players to interact with the story more with the eyes of their characters and less with the eyes of a player. I’m sincerely inviting my players to tell the story together with me, and they usually respond to that with greater involvement, and therefore, much fewer moments of awkward silences.
