KOM_I, a strange but no doubt familiar name, is the lead singer of Japanese band Wednesday Campanella. A portmanteau of the first syllables of her first name and surname, the underscore in her stage name came about when KOM_I created her Twitter handle. Her style follows the same ethos of casual improvisation, earning her legions of fans as well as a place on Vogue Japan’s 2017 Women of the Year list. The modern electro pop music is a way of expressing her thoughts that would otherwise be neglected. She translates them into moody melodies and lyrics, thus bringing every one of her listeners along for the ride.

Those who have seen KOM_I perform live often come away with a deep impression of her energetic stage presence and music, which combines Hip-Hop, Electro and Pop.
