Pat Pattison Interview (Part 3/6) | Stable and Unstable Elements in Songwriting | How to Write Songs

Описание к видео Pat Pattison Interview (Part 3/6) | Stable and Unstable Elements in Songwriting | How to Write Songs

Pat Pattison is a professor at the Berklee College of Music, where he has taught lyric writing, songwriting, and poetry for 47 years.

In this series, Pat takes us through the elements of lyric writing - and demonstrates how making decisions about the structure and placement of lyrics can amplify the meaning and emotions we are trying to convey. Motion creates emotion.

In this Part, Pat explains the concept of "prosody" - how the structural elements of lyrics can support - and amplify - the emotion. He shows how Paul Simon achieved this effect in the bridge section of "Still Crazy After All These Years".
