JADEN SMITH - SYRE FIRST REACTION/REVIEW (JUNGLE BEATS)

Jaden Smith SYRE just messed up our top 10 lists. While media companies like Pitchfork and The Needle Drop are collectively not enjoying this album...we feel the opposite. BLUE is arguably one of the best intro's to an album this entire year. It's grand and sonically beautiful - words which we feel describe this entire album. The production carries this album as Jaden ebbs and flows over this album like a wave.

And yes, it's clear Jaden takes direct inspiration from the likes of Kanye, Kid Cudi, BROCKHAMPTON and Childish Gambino to name a few. While Jaden likely prides himself on being a unique 'one of kind' artist/human being, he/we, are all standing on the shoulders of giants. Lastly, we discovered after reacting to SYRE that the album is titled after Jaden's middle name, which make's more sense and gives more weight to this album being a conceptual self reflection of one's life. While some may critique his lyricism as corny and petty, that doesn't bother us too much as the strengths outshine the weaknesses. All in all, for someone that's only been on this planet for 19 years this debut album is very very good.
