NASTY Porsche 356 Transaxle Cleanup/Teardown/Inspection & BAD News!!

I could eat off my transaxle now! Bad news is that a MAJOR internal part failed inspection. Should I rebuild it myself or hire a pro? Let me know! This doesn't need to go another 100k miles, but I'd like it to be reliable and quiet.
