Описание к видео Ford 5.4 2V Head Gasket Replacement

Is your Ford 5.4 motor experiencing overheating, loss of power, or white smoke from the exhaust? It may be time to replace the head gaskets. In this comprehensive tutorial, I'll guide you through the process of replacing the head gaskets in your Ford 5.4 motor.

I'll cover everything from the tools you'll need to the steps involved in replacing the old head gaskets with new ones. Replacing the head gaskets in your Ford 5.4 motor can be a challenging job, but with some guidance and detailed instructions, you can tackle it with confidence. By the end of this tutorial, you'll have the knowledge and skills you need to successfully replace your head gaskets and get your motor running smoothly again.

This video is Part 7 of a much longer series of videos that get into a motor project I did with my son. The motor is a 1999 Ford 5.4 Liter 2 valve (2V). When he got the truck it had a bad knocking sound. The oil looked like a silver metallic spray paint when we inspected it so we decided to remove the motor with engine problems and replace it with a used one. It only made sense to replace gaskets and seals as well as do an oil pump replacement with an performance upgrade pump among several other things.

The purpose of the videos in this series is just to show you how we did the work so maybe you can save time and learn from the mistakes we made along the way. Do anything you see in the videos at your own risk.

Future videos in this series will focus on the details of individual smaller jobs throughout the project. That should keep them shorter and easier to dive into the detailed how-to's of each project. When possible, I'll provide torque specs, tightening sequences, bolt sizes and helpful tips.

The next videos in this series will be installing a new water pump and the oil filter adapter with new gasket. Other videos in this series cover rear main seal replacement, piston & deck clean and prep, painting the valve covers and the block, disassembly of the motor, timing chain kit, and more!

The gaskets and head bolts are made by Fel-Pro (Felpro) and the part numbers are 9792 PT-2, 9790 PT-2 and ES71328.
