Helllooo everybody and come along for the ride as I take on the task of rebuilding the Colorado Rockies here on MLB The Show 24.

In this episode, we’ll bounce around the MLB landscape and start by reviewing this year’s final standings and previewing the 2025 MLB postseason. Our Rockies just barely missed out on a Wildcard spot but have a lot to build on going into next year.

We’ll then move on to league leaders which features Adley Rutschman paving the way with a batting average over .360 as he’s crowned the AL batting champion. The NL batting title goes to Brendan Donovan. His Cardinals teammate Nolan Gorman led in runs batted in as St. Louis holds a tremendously talented duo in their lineup. Leading in home runs includes reigning MVP Shohei Ohtani. Moving over to pitching, Spencer Strider led the league in strikeouts by a huge margin finishing with nearly 275 punchouts en route to his first Cy Young award.

After that, we’ll review our player statistics from our Rockies this season. Free agent signings Anthony Santander and Pete Alonso tied for the team lead with 33 home runs, while the former led with 113 RBIs but the latter secured his first Gold Glove, along with fellow infielder Ezequiel Tovar. Another FA signing who lived up to the billing was Max Fried who led the team with 17 wins and ranked second in the National League.

Following all the formalities, we'll simulate through the 2025 MLB Playoffs which ends up with a World Series matchup of the St. Louis Cardinals against the Tampa Bay Rays.

In the next episode, we’ll dive into the Year 2 Offseason. Colorado displayed exceptional growth this past season and made moves last offseason, giving them a solid foundation to build from moving forward. Last year’s free agency was headlined by Alonso, Fried, Santander, and others. This year the Rockies will prioritize building the bullpen, adding a traditional centerfield with some lead-off prowess, and perhaps adding a starting pitcher if the budget persists.
