Revamp of Shah Alam Stadium: A New Era Begins!

Welcome to the official video on the exciting redevelopment of Kompleks Sukan Shah Alam (KSSA), marking the transformation of this iconic stadium into a modern sports and recreation hub. This project, which starts with the demolition of the old Shah Alam Stadium, is set to reshape Selangor's landscape and offer state-of-the-art facilities for sports, entertainment and public activities.

Project Overview
Kompleks Sukan Shah Alam, originally built in 1994, has been an important landmark for Malaysians. With a seating capacity of over 80,000, it hosted many key sporting events and concerts. However, due to aging infrastructure and flood damage, the Selangor state government decided to redevelop the stadium into a world-class sports complex.

The new Shah Alam Stadium, designed with modern, sustainable features, will have a seating capacity of 40,000 to 45,000. This reduction in size aims to optimize usage while maintaining an eco-friendly, functional design. The stadium will also feature cutting-edge facilities, including a movable grass field to support multiple sports and events, alongside air-conditioned interiors for year-round usability.

Phased Development
The redevelopment will occur in three phases:

Phase One focuses on the stadium reconstruction, a parking plaza, and an integrated LRT3 terminal, which will be completed within two years.
Phase Two will see the construction of commercial facilities, including a 10,000-capacity indoor theater, youth centers, and a sports wing by 2028.
Phase Three, scheduled for completion in 2029, involves the construction of a hotel and recreational park, enhancing the area as a destination for both locals and visitors.
Flood Mitigation and Sustainability
A 4.04-hectare underground reservoir will be built to prevent flooding, a crucial measure after past flood damage to the original stadium. The new design also incorporates solar panels and water-efficient systems, ensuring environmental sustainability.

Future Impact
This ambitious redevelopment will not only modernize Shah Alam Stadium but also transform it into a hub for sports, culture, and commerce. The new facilities will support local businesses, attract international events, and provide recreation for the community, ensuring it becomes a vital part of Selangor’s future.
