Art Deco Egyptian Temple: Mount Moriah Mausoleum - Kansas City Architectural Masterpiece

This week we are visiting the mt Mariah cemetery. The cemetery was established in 1903 and is located in Kansas City, Missouri. The Great Temple Mausoleum was completed in 1926 and it is in the style of an Egyptian temple and its acutaly based on the temple of Karnak in Egypt. In the center of this mausoleum is the temple room, its truly amazing. This mausoleum was built for use by the Masons and there are a lot of Masonic symbols around. But what is more abundant here is all of these architectural details that are absolutely wondrous. And this building is an art deco masterpiece. Inside here are numerous crypt burials. And there are three important people buried here, two in the mausoleum and one out on the grounds.

I love history and I get out and go find it every week! I have found some amazing history just by getting out and exploring!
