In 2016, the match of the century unfolded as AlphaGo, an AI developed by Google’s DeepMind, challenged Lee Se-dol, a professional Go player, in a match. The result was a 4-1 victory for AlphaGo. After the match, Lee, one of the world’s best players at 9-dan ranking, expressed his astonishment, saying he found AlphaGo’s moves completely unpredictable. AlphaGo dominated the game with innovative moves that no human professional player would have made. Six years have passed, and now AIs can paint following human instructions, creating detailed and exceptional artwork in a short amount of time. A novel written by a Japanese AI even passed the preliminary round in a literary contest, advancing to the final round.
