Egg Plane Group Build - F-16 Fighting Falcon - ep. 3 Final

Welcome back to the 2019 Egg Plane Group Build! On this episode, we are finally finishing our F-16 and calling this one a wrap. However, we still need to take a few final steps to get this one done, so let’s get on with it.

First up, I need to work on our display base. For that, I decided to try and reproduce an Artificial Horizon gauge, very similar to one that you might find on an instrument panel in a real plane. It won’t be perfect, but I like the idea and I should be able to pull it off.

Next up we will need to apply a gloss coat and decal the kit. According to some of the other builders, the egg plane decals are notoriously troublesome, so I’ll have to try and be careful. After all the decals are dry, I will then apply a semi-gloss sealant coat, mixed from 1:1 Flat Varnish and Future Floor Polish. That will give us a nice satin finish and it should protect the paint and the decals.

Finally, we can mount the plane onto the base with some 16-gauge wire and place this one on the display shelf. A job well-done.
