TORNERAI (J’ATTENDRAI) | Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi

Описание к видео TORNERAI (J’ATTENDRAI) | Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi

“Tornerai” was written by Nino Rastelli and Dino Olivieri in 1936, and it has been translated into many other languages, most notably into French with the title, “J’attendrai.” Pianist and arranger Olivieri was the musical director of the Italian branch of the record label, His Master’s Voice, in the 1930s-40s. This song was inspired by the humming chorus (“il coro a bocca chiusa”) in Puccini’s opera, “Madame Butterfly.” Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, and Bing Crosby, among others, made recordings of this song, which during World War II came to represent waiting for a return to peace and liberation.
