You can't have enough major jazz guitar licks in your repertoire :-)
In today's guitar tutorial I'll be showing you several Jazz major scale guitar licks, and we're gonna be using the Ionian guitar scale in the first pattern for it. We have two nice c major jazz chords lying there, that help us visualize and target the chord tones within the C major scale.

The major scale pattern 1 guitar is one of the most played patterns in jazz.

I focus on the Ionian guitar scale, but I'll also throw in some chromatic tones and also use the major bebop scale to add more colors.
All the licks are C major jazz guitar licks, but you can and absolutely should move these licks to other keys as well. This is easily done, if you know the chord, scale and arpeggio relationships. You need an anchor, like the root or the chord and then shift everything up and down the fretboard, while retaining the same distance.

I've made a C major scale guitar tab and the major scale pattern 1 diagram plus the chord and arpeggio relationship diagrams, which you can download from the link in this description box. I've also made a C major scale jazz backing track at several tempos (3 backing tracks).
