Metal Gear Solid 3 - How to Beat the Shagohod on Extreme Quickly! (guide in description)

This footage is from my recent MGS3 European Extreme difficulty Foxhound ranking run. This strategy may take quite a few tries to get down, but it's definitely worth it if you're struggling with this fight, and also if you're aiming to get that elusive Foxhound ranking.

Make sure to have the RPG-7 and the Mosin Nagant equipped. You may also need the M1911 just in case any missiles are fired at you. Also remember to equip the Sneaking Suit to reduce damage, just in case you do take any damage.

When the fight starts, shoot the Shagohod's treads with an RPG so it stops moving, then wait until you've circled around the back, and shoot an RPG at the broken bit. Sometimes you can even get 2 or 3 shots off on the Shagohod before it turns back around. Repeat this until the first phase is over.

Once the second phase, shoot the treads with an RPG, then equip the Mosin Nagant and shoot Volgin in the head. After you do that once, he'll focus fire on you instead of EVA, but you should still be able to find gaps between his attacks to shoot the treads and then his head. Sometimes the RPG doesn't stop the treads; if this happens, shoot them again and they should stop. Keep this up until he's done.
