The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have battled a lot of foes throughout their entire history, but to set the record straight, Lord Vringath Dregg has been a considerably more dangerous antagonist than the heroes had fought in prior seasons, making him the ideal villain for the original show's "red sky" episodes (where the sky was consistently a dark red and the issue was darker).
Lord Dregg first made an appearance in the second last season of the 1980s animated series in place of Shredder and Krang, the show's two main enemies. The series' main antagonist would remain the evil alien warlord up until its cancellation in 1996. Dregg came down To Earth as an essential part of his plan to conquer the galaxy, but he kept getting stopped by the Turtles.
