Prototype Visits: Reopening Quainton Road Station

Описание к видео Prototype Visits: Reopening Quainton Road Station

Part of an occasional series, these prototype visits present highlights of days out at heritage railways and preservation centres. With vintage rolling stock operating in recreated settings, these locations can help inspire modelling effective scenes complete with a variety of period details.

This video covers the 2024 reopening of Quainton Road Station, specifically the first Society train to use the station since the formation of the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre in the 1960s. Alongside visiting GWR tank No. 6695 is Austerity 66, the last standard-gauge engine built for commercial UK use. She is part of a wide variety of operative and static engines and displays at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton, that are well worth visiting.
