Hello and welcome back to our channel.

You join Vet and I in Hawes today ahead a short three-day tour of Weardale and Teesdale. We'll be staying in Middleton in Teesdale for a couple of nights to give us time to really explore some of the surrounding back roads.

Our ride today will take us north, through Buttertubs Pass and on to the village of Keld where we encountered one of the steepest hills with the tightest bends we've ever ridden up. It was messy, but we both managed to get up it without dropping our bikes. If you do plan to ride this route, we would urge you to check out this hill for yourself before attempting it. Motorcycle fairing plastic is expensive!

We continue along an amazing single-track road with outstanding views to Tan Hill Inn, the highest inn in the British Isles. If you've ever been up there, you'll know just how scenic that area is. Yet more amazing back roads take us to the small town of Brough, home to both a Norman castle and a Roman fort.

The scenery changes as we make our way further north toward our destination of Middleton in Teesdale. We are staying in the Forresters Arms, which describes itself as a 'French restaurant with rooms'. Although the room was fine, there was a lot of noise from the bar downstairs which went on until after 1am.
