Learn How To Draw Pt 3: How To Use Simple Shapes To Draw Objects

I hope you've been practicing how to draw 3D shapes! Today we move on to learning how to use the shapes to draw 3D objects.

Simple shapes are used in the first stage of a drawing, whether you are drawing objects, drawing people or drawing...well, anything! In this lesson we look at how to see objects as simple shapes. First we draw a plan using shapes, and then we edit and refine the sketch by adding some more detail.

In this free drawing lesson we'll cover:
• a two step process for getting a sketch down on paper
• how to draw simple objects using shapes
• how to edit and refine a sketch

This lesson is about practicing observation and sketching, NOT perfect proportion or complicated techniques...because you need to learn to crawl before you can walk :)

MATERIALS:
• Sketchbook
• HB pencil (Im using a 3B so you can see it clearly)
• eraser
• simple objects for practicing
